Laura grew up in Beloit and graduated from West Branch High School. She earned her B.A. in Neuroscience from Agnes Scott College, and then earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Engineering Psychology from Georgia Tech.

Laura returned home and has been serving on the Beloit Village council since 2020. She serves on the parks and finance committees, chairs the grants committee and has served on the safety committee. Additionally, her record of public service includes five years as the ILS administrator at the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County.

Laura ran for State Representative for Ohio House District 59 in 2024, and continues to serve on Beloit Village Council.
